Social Activities and Recreational Programs

The Claire Koepke Outreach Center (ORC) of Appleton is designed to assist people with chronic mental illness maintain and improve their quality of life. It provides community support activities and outreach services to members. People who utilize the ORC often become involved in planned:

  • Social, educational and vocational activities
  • Recreational programs and activities
  • ORC and Appleton community events

The ORC provides information on housing, education, employment and other community-based services. It maintains an informal communication link with other mental health agencies and many community service agencies across the Fox Valley area.

Members of the ORC have the opportunity to help plan activities as well as voice suggestions, comments and concerns at weekly scheduled Friendship Meetings. The ORC Newsletter provides members with details on monthly social and recreational activities. Activities offered include:

  • Bingo
  • Arts and crafts
  • Pool and foosball
  • Darts and ping pong
  • Cards and cribbage
  • Dominos
  • Book and magazine exchanges
  • Computer games
  • Piano, music and karaoke
  • Theme parties
  • Soup and pizza nights
  • Snacks, picnics and monthly cookouts
  • Cooking group
  • Exercise equipment
  • Prize drawings
  • Tournaments
  • Peer conversation
  • Movie night
  • A.A.

Hours Open:
Monday-Friday — 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday — 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
